Children with developmental disabilities have multiple obstacles to overcome. Obtaining appropriate medical care is an essential beginning. The diagnostic facility completed in 2012 makes a wider range of diagnostic services locally accessible.
Maternity Services
Improved prenatal care with locally available ultrasound at the Diagnostic Center supports the maternal and child health program at Uzima Clinic for healthier mothers and babies.
Building Caring Communities
Our team visits isolated, remote villages in southern coastal Tanzania bringing information and medical care to children with disabilities and their families. We work with local village elders to overcome the fear and stigma commonly associated with disabilities and promote acceptance and hope.
