Empowering children with access to education
- DaySpring Preschool supports children with disabilities within an integrated classroom, with dedicated staff who provide additional assistance.
- A separate, special needs classroom provides an option for children needing more assistance than is available in the inclusive preschool setting.
- DaySpring Academy Primary school supports an inclusive education environment for children with and without disabilities. Classrooms are wheelchair accessible and tuition support is available.
- The Secondary school at DaySpring Academy opened in January of 2024, extending the local opportunity for inclusive education.
Health Care Support
Improving the health of children with disabilities.
- Local access to specialized pediatric care at Uzima Clinic.
- Maternal/child health clinic for disability prevention.
- Outreach teams provide specialized medical services to remote to villages with poor access to appropriate care.
- The Home of Hope provides food, shelter, and transportation to and from appointments at our partner referral hospitals in Dar es Salaam.
- Uzima Clinic provides access to diagnostic services including ultrasound and specity testing to better support local access to medical care.
Community Rehab Programs
Social support, community based rehab, and inclusion programs
- A safe and supportive community for mothers and children to lift up one another and learn skills to care for and support a special needs child.
- Microfinancing and skills training for mothers caring for a child with disabilities, who needs means to generate income.
- Physiotherapy program includes children staying at the Home of Hope residential facility and village children unable to access more urban facilities.
